About NAMI Membership
Membership dues support NAMI Chippewa Valley, NAMI Wisconsin and NAMI National. NAMI memberships are renewed on an annual basis and membership dues are completely tax deductible. Membership benefits include the ability to vote in our local board elections, access to the members-only sections of NAMI websites and receiving periodic issues of national and state NAMI publications. Your membership strengthens our voice and creates real hope that together, we can create a better future for people in Wisconsin who are affected by mental illness.
About Board Membership
Interested in making a difference in someone's life? Have an interest or passion to help others who are living with a mental illness? Join our Board of Directors and help us promote our programs and achieve our mission. The Board meets once per month on the fourth Tuesday from 6:30-8pm. Help us connect and network with other groups and partners in the Chippewa Valley, promote and raise funds to support our programs, recruit volunteers and other board members, and provide ideas and direction to our group.
About Volunteering
We are actively recruiting individuals who are interested in teaching our NAMI Family-to-Family and Peer-to-Peer classes and leading our NAMI Family Support Groups and Peer Support Groups. Two facilitators are required to lead each of the support groups and classes. The requirements to become a facilitator are to become a NAMI member, attend the class or support group you are interested in leading, complete the required state training, and be living in recovery (for peer programs.) Training is provided at no cost to you.
